![]() On another occasion in the Eliminator, I was in the Final Showdown, I had worked up to a level 10 car, either a lambo or Ferrari (can't remember which now). It also didn't look like ping issues either as the person didn't 'rubber-band'. No way could that have happened with the Beetle. Within seconds the results flashed on the screen saying I had been eliminated even though there was more than 4km still to go. I was facing the wrong way, had to turn around, caught them up & about to overtake when the other person suddenly ghosted and engaged some sort of turbo boost, they then blasted into the distance. I was in a Level 7 car (some 4x4, I think it was the Bronco) & they were in the Level 1 Beetle. I'm assuming there are a small amount of players who somehow manage to 'manipulate' the FH5 game? Whilst playing the Eliminator on one occasion, I was challenged to a Head to Head. It does seem far more stable now, which is good but I'm finding new issues with the game. I decided to go back to FH5 during the Christmas break, having given it a wide berth due to all the bugs etc. It's partially how I ended up playing the Eliminator and after putting a good number of hours into it I think it's badly done, I wasn't a big fan of it in FH4 but the much more varied map gave far more challenge and skill to the head to heads so there were moments of enjoyment. The new map being designed around Eliminator though is clearly a load of rubbish and what's irritating about the poor multiplayer options is that they are what gives games longevity and I think it's the reason I'm feeling bored with the game so soon after release. I'm dubious about the claims of Eliminator being the most popular in FH4 although I'm only seeing the enthusiast side on forums/reddit where the mode was mostly disliked. With no voice chat it limited how toxic players could be and I didn't find behaviour any worse in the ranked playlists than the other ones and in FH5 the behaviour in the Tour and Trial is far more toxic than the ranked playlists were with anti-ramming/anti-wall riding in place. PG Games have claimed they removed the ranked playlists because they were too toxic, that Eliminator was by far the most popular multiplayer game mode in FH4 and that they'd designed the map to tailor itself to the Eliminator in FH5.Īll of which seems a complete load of rubbish and I don't know if they're just making up nonsense to cover the mess they've made in FH5 or they actually think that. Now I find it's unbelievably slow to get into games, it's often not the start of the set of races, there's not a full roster of players and despite having all those downsides you still don't get the advantage of being able to choose what class/type you want. I wasn't that fussed about the actual ranking in the ranked playlists in FH4 but I preferred them over the custom/quick adventures because you could get into a game fairly quickly, you'd always be in at the start of the three/five races and you'd usually start with 10-12 players. Thankfully I am done and dusted with the mode as that's all the Eliminator accolades finished.Ĭlick to expand. What's worse is there's no reason for the multiplayer to be such a mess, it worked a lot better in FH4 and I cannot understand the thinking behind the new implementation. There's sometimes a hint of a good game mode but it's pretty rare unfortunately. I do think there's potential in the game mode but I'm disappointed not only did they carry the flawed implementation straight across from FH4 without the improvements it desperately needed but it's so much worse in FH5 because of the large open sections on the map which means it mostly just comes down to raw power rather than skill. If I ever wanted to get them later they would likely be much more difficult or impossible for some of the more difficult accolades. I can't stand the Eliminator game mode but I feel this is the best chance to get the accolades completed while most people are still fairly new to the game and there's a large number of people playing. The leaderboards are all completely pointless because there's such rampant cheating and there's maybe cheating in normal racing I'm not seeing but I've been surprised by the number of cheating I've seen in Eliminator with cars going at impossibly fast straight line speeds. It's not easy but they really need to do something to sort out the cheating and given how incredibly aggressive they are with livery bans they certainly don't have a problem with banning people.
